A reward a day for the Pompey Academy Campaign

BY Portsmouth FC -

The Pompey campaign is gathering pace, having reached the half-way point of £125,000 after only 35 incredible days.

For each of the remaining 27 days of the campaign, a new reward will be released for a period of 24 hours to purchase.

Each reward will be your chance to own a unique piece of Pompey History and was the brainchild of Pompey Chief Executive, Mark Catlin, to celebrate reaching the 50% milestone in such quick speed.

Mark explained, “We’re so lucky to have such wonderful fans that we wanted to do something ultra-special. So we’ve delved into our archives and identified 40, or so, unique items from our past which we’ll be making available as rewards.”

Micah Hall, Pompey’s Engagement Manager and lifelong fan said, “£125,000 is already an amazing achievement and having seen some of these new rewards, they range from the sublime to the bizarre, but they each represent a unique part of our history.”

The first unique, or ‘Spot’, reward is a pair of Pompey legend Linvoy Primus’ Adidas Copa Mondial which he wore during the 2005/6 season.

“The fact that we’re kicking things off with a pair of Linvoy Primus’s Adidas boots hopefully gives you some idea of what’s to come,” said Micah, “We really want to capture the imagination and we’ve still got lots more weird and wonderful things to come.”

The Pompey Academy FanFunding campaign was launched in June by Andy Awford and Gianluca Vialli and is designed to raise £250,000 to create two pitches for the Pompey Academy at the club’s new training ground at Roko.

The strategy behind the FanFunding campaign is that it offers exclusive rewards in exchange for financial contributions from the fans to help raise the funds. There are a number of rewards already available, ranging from personalised letters of thank you, signed pictures, shirts and the opportunity to be engraved on a plaque outside the training ground once it’s complete.

Make sure you follow the official Pompey twitter feed and Facebook page for announcements of each new reward and there will be regular updates on the official site for some of the major rewards.

You can purchase your own unique reward on the official campaign page and 100% of the money raised will go directly to the Pompey Academy pitches.
