Earlier today, our Pompey Academy FanFunding campaign reached its first major milestone of £100,000 within the first 24 days. The landmark also represents 40% point of the campaign total of £250,000 with over five weeks still remaining on the campaign. Last night the campaign page and Official Pompey twitter feed went into overdrive as fans from Pompey as well as other clubs got involved.
Some fans, such as Steve Mclenaghan, have not only made significant contributions throughout the campaign, but have also donated the rewards they’ve purchased back to the club so they can be bought by other fans.
Former Pompey goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown and his wife have already made their contribution stating that he’s “glad to be involved”.
We’ve also had contributions from 2012 BBC’s The Apprentice winner, wrestler and lifelong Pompey Fan Ricky Martin – who also purchased rewards for his father.
