What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an Associate to join our Italian office. This role is suitable for a very capable junior professional that wants to be part of an innovative and growing firm and to use their skills and ideas to make a real business impact.
The role will be a full-time position based in Milan that reports directly to Marco Re, Managing Director and Head of Tifosy Italia. The employment contract will be with the Italian subsidiary of Tifosy which is regulated by Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB).
The right candidate should be interested in living and working in Milan but capable of supporting transactions across the Tifosy Capital & Advisory group and communicating effectively with people in other business functions.
What Will You Do?
This is a varied role in a newly established and dynamic office that will provide you with exposure to all areas of the Tifosy business. As part of the role:
- you will assist with a range of M&A and financing transactions, supporting the execution team and helping to drive the transaction process from origination to execution and closeout;
- you will be responsible for creating financial models, preparing client presentations and scheduling and attending meetings;
- you will conduct transaction due diligence and prepare analyses of industry data, transaction precedents and investment trends;
- you will be responsible for producing sports and financial industry research, benchmarking and investment presentations and for ensuring that Tifosy documentation adheres to the highest standards;
- you will assist with the management of investment transactions occurring through the (i) Tifosy Sports Lending Fund; and (ii) Tifosy investment platform (including reviewing marketing promotions, platform onboarding processes and providing support and Q&A to investors);
- you will work closely with other members of the Italian office and take responsible for certain office administrative tasks (creating invoices, purchase orders, bank payments, reconciliations and providing support to our accountants and auditors).
What Experience And Skills Are Required?
Professional experience – you will have 2 – 3 years’ experience in financial services, ideally in TMT, and have trained in a top-tier investment bank.
Strong quantitative and technical abilities – you will be experienced in financial modelling, accounting and creating presentations. You will also have a robust financial and analytical skill set and an outstanding academic record.
Communication skills – you will be fluent in Italian and English (at a minimum) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment – you will have an adaptable and flexible approach and assist with the growth of our Italian office. You will be able to manage your own time and work on a number of projects and tasks at one time.
A self-starter and a problem-solver – you will be able to use your initiative to put in place processes and collaborate with teams across the business, including our wider finance and tech teams.
Interested in all matters sports and finance – you will have a genuine interest in the sports finance industry and an enthusiasm for the changing landscape of finance, technology and M&A.
