The average point has cost Premier League clubs £1.11m in transfer expenditure since 2011/12
In the decade from the 2011/12 season to the 2020/21 season, Chelsea spent £1.82m on transfers for every league point won, the highest in the Premier League. Manchester City were the third-highest spenders per point at £1.63m, just behind Manchester United at £1.66m.
The club with the lowest spend per point which nevertheless remained in the Premier League throughout the decade in question was Tottenham Hotspur, with an efficient expenditure of £1.02m per point, 14% lower than North London rivals Arsenal on £1.18m per point.
