Basingstoke Town Football Club was formed in 1896, and has one of the richest Non-League histories of any club. With the appointment of former AFC Wimbledon manager, Terry Brown, the club is extremely well-positioned to move forward both on and off the field as it pursues its vision of being an inclusive club for all and a football and social centre for the community, with a range of teams playing at the highest sustainable levels possible.
Terry has brought a change of philosophy which has led to:
- The first team squad becoming a full-time entity
- The club actively looking to recruit young, talented players from leagues higher up in the football pyramid
- The Academy undergoing significant growth, increasing in size to 70 full time students
- BTFC now having over 100 youngsters aged 8-16 playing every Saturday morning
Now Basingstoke Town is launching #NewEra, an innovative Fanfunding scheme designed to allow Basingstoke fans to support their club via a monthly subscription, while being able to enjoy fantastic benefits. As the club looks to take that next step up both on and off the field, fundraising activities will become increasingly important, and this scheme fits the bill in terms of providing flexible, good value options for supporters in line with the need to help sustain and boost the club’s regular income. This will allow supporters to pay for Membership and Season Tickets on a monthly basis, and have access to clubhouse discounts, home shirts, matchday programmes and cup match tickets. The scheme allows you to spread the cost of supporting your club over a year.
Priority areas for finance to be maximised include youth player development among others. The income streams from innovative ideas such as the various package options outlined below will also help support other priority areas to enable the club to move onwards and upwards in a sustainable way.
The first project will be to improve the toilet facilities within the ground. After consulting with and receiving quotes from local building/renovation firms, the club has set the target at £20,000. This renovation is for the main male toilet block and includes; Removing old and replacing with new UPVC windows, disposal of existing toilets, plumbing and fittings, new plumbing, new floor to ceiling tiles, new latex safety flooring, new stainless steel troughs, new basins with timed taps, two hand dryers and new cubicle with replacement door.
Once we have successfully delivered our first project, we will move on to the next project and so on.
Future projects include, in no particular order:
- Improve the Public Announcement (PA) system.
- Improving/replacing the floodlights.
- Improving/replacing the onsite club shop.
- Improving the car park.
