Last night at Craven Cottage, Fulham FC players and staff attended this special event along with some lucky fans to celebrate the legendary George Cohen and raise funds for the #Cohen66 campaign, which has now reached almost 60% of its target! Before the guests took their seats for dinner, there was time for a meet and greet with the first team players, with plenty of selfies being taken for fans to remember the night. There was an excited atmosphere as the past and present of English football came together to celebrate a real hero of the game.
One of the special guests was Fulham former Manager and current England boss Roy Hodgson, a great friend of George, who took part in a Q&A with host Richard Osman on the stage. It was a unique opportunity for fans to ask questions about the England squad before the European Cup starting soon.
The evening was also very successful in fundraising terms, as many special items were auctioned with the proceeds going to the #Cohen66 campaign to erect a statue of George and provide funds for dementia care in the Fulham community.
The night came to a close with a speech from George, a true Fulham man and World Cup winner who definitely deserves the recognition. Tifosy would like to thank Fulham Football club for organising this special event as well as all the amazing fans who participated and raised money for such fantastic causes.
