Investment Process

How do I invest via the Tifosy Investment Platform?

To start investing via the Tifosy Investment Platform you need to first become a member. Becoming a member is simple, all you need to do is register with your name, an email address and a strong and memorable password.

Once you have done this and confirmed your email (we will send you an email with a link to do this), you are ready to start viewing investment offers available on the Tifosy investment platform, but there are a few more steps you need to complete before you are ready to invest. You can complete these steps directly from your profile or as part of the investment process.

To view all the information relating to an investment offer including all corresponding documentation, you need to self-certify, which simply means selecting which investor category best describes you.

After you have self-certified, you will have full access to the information relating to an offer. Remember, it is important you read this information, as any decision to invest should be made solely on the basis of a careful review of the offer document associated to each investment opportunity.

The second step you are required to take is the completion of the Eligibility Questionnaire. The Questionnaire is designed to determine whether you have understood the risks associated with investments such as those offered on the Tifosy Investment Platform and you must answer all questions correctly. For more information relating to the risks of investing, see Are there risks in investing in securities offered via Tifosy?.

In addition to self-certification and completion of the Eligibility Questionnaire, you will also need to provide your personal details (including full name, address and date of birth). This information, will be linked to your Tifosy Profile and not to a specific investment, meaning you are ready to invest in any offer when it becomes available.

To invest in a specific offer, you visit the investment page and input the amount you wish to invest. If you have not become authorised to invest by completing the steps outlined above, then you will be prompted to do so at this point. You will also need to select a payment method. What payment methods are accepted? Please note, investment applications are not deemed complete until funds have been received and a failure to make payment in a timely manner may result in your investment application being rejected.

Before you complete your investment, we will also need to verify your identity pursuant to our Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) legal requirements. In many cases, we will be able to run our checks automatically during the investment process but, if not, you may be prompted to provide proof of your identity, address, source of funds and other forms of documentation.

Upon submission of the information above, Tifosy carries out Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on all investors and investments. Tifosy is required by law to carry out these checks  for the prevention of financial crime and may require you to provide additional information to verify your identity and/or your source of funds.

Once an offer has closed, the issuer will review all applications and issue the bonds or shares to all successful investors. You are then notified by email and your Tifosy portfolio will reflect your investment, including all corresponding documents such as bond or share certificates.
